Terms of Use

Effective 2026-08-04. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern access to and use of Twig software, documentation, and the website at https://twig.bhalala.org (the “Services”) offered byBhalala Corp (“we”, “us”).

1. What Twig is

Twig is personal agent software for Android, with optional companion tooling. It is designed so that durable state lives on your device. AI completions and embeddings are performed by third-party providers using credentials you supply. Twig is not a managed cloud agent service and is not a substitute for professional advice.

2. Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction and meet any minimum age required for the Services and for the third-party providers you use. You may not use the Services if you are prohibited from receiving software under applicable law.

3. License to the software

Twig application source and related project materials are made available under theMIT License unless a particular file states otherwise. The MIT License’s conditions and disclaimer of warranty apply. These Terms do not replace the MIT License for copyright permissions; they add rules for use of our distribution channels, branding, and website.

4. Your responsibilities

You agree that you will:

  • Use the Services in compliance with applicable law
  • Maintain the security of your device, backups, and API keys
  • Configure and pay third-party providers under their terms
  • Not attempt to misrepresent Twig as a hosted service we operate for your data
  • Not use Twig to develop, operate, or deploy systems where failure could lead to death, personal injury, or severe environmental or property damage without independent safeguards you control
  • Not abuse distribution infrastructure (for example scraping in a way that degrades service, or distributing malware under Twig’s name)

5. API keys and third-party services

Features that call models, embeddings, speech, or other network services require third parties. Those services are not subcontractors performing a hosted Twig backend for your content; they are services you connect. You authorize Twig to transmit the data necessary to fulfill requests you initiate. Fees, quotas, content policies, outages, and data handling of those providers are between you and them.

6. No professional advice

Outputs from agents and models can be wrong, incomplete, biased, or unsafe. Twig and generated content are for general informational and personal productivity use only. They are not legal, medical, financial, tax, mental-health, or other professional advice. You must use independent judgment and qualified professionals where appropriate. You assume all risk for actions you take based on outputs.

7. Beta / early software

Builds may be unstable, incomplete, or change in breaking ways — including on-disk formats (with migration or reindex expectations described in docs when available). Features such as background “dreams” depend on operating-system scheduling and OEM behavior we do not control.

8. Acceptable use

You will not use the Services to:

  • Violate law or third-party rights
  • Distribute malware or attempt unauthorized access to systems
  • Harass, exploit, or harm others
  • Circumvent technical limitations except as allowed by open-source rights
  • Mislead others that outputs are human-verified professional opinions

9. Website

Documentation and download pages are provided for convenience. We may change, suspend, or discontinue site content without notice. Links to third parties are not endorsements.

10. Intellectual property

Subject to the MIT License and open-source notices, we and our licensors retain rights in the Services, branding, and site design. “Twig” names and marks, if any, should not be used to imply endorsement of forks or unrelated products without permission.

You retain rights in content you create and store on your device. You grant us no license to that content merely by running the local app.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. It forms part of how we describe the Services; these Terms control in case of conflict about contractual rights, except where privacy law requires otherwise.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT OUTPUTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR CONTRIBUTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR PROVIDER CHARGES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICES SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US DIRECTLY FOR THE SERVICES IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (IF ANY) OR (B) ZERO U.S. DOLLARS IF THE SERVICES WERE PROVIDED WITHOUT CHARGE BY US.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.

14. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us and our contributors against claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Services, your content, your API provider accounts, or your violation of these Terms or law, to the extent permitted by law.

15. Export and sanctions

You must comply with export control and sanctions laws that apply to you. You represent you are not prohibited from receiving the software under such laws.

16. Termination

You may stop using the Services at any time (uninstall, delete data). We may stop distributing builds or hosting documentation. Provisions that by nature should survive (including licenses already granted under MIT, disclaimers, and limitations) will survive.

17. Governing law

Except where mandatory local law applies, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in San Francisco County, California shall have exclusive jurisdiction, unless applicable law gives you the right to bring claims in your home jurisdiction.

If you need a different governing-law seat for your organization, contactBhalala Corp atlegal@bhalala.org before relying on Twig in a commercial deployment.

18. Changes

We may modify these Terms by posting an updated version with a new effective date. If you continue using the Services after changes become effective, you accept the updated Terms where permitted by law.
